Odds go way up after your score breaks 660. I would wait.

Look at the bright side ... at least you are getting taunted Smiley Happy    I get nothing - unless you count the offers from bottom feeders which leave with $50 available credit after deducting their fees.

Keep up the great job with your credit recovery and soon YOU will get to determine who gets the pleasure of doing business with YOU Smiley Happy

Oh trust me people, it hasn't even crossed my mind to attempt an app. I just don't know why they waste the first-class postage! Just a reminder of how gimpy I am in fico-land,. Thanks alot, AmEx!

I second that. I apped twice with rejection from AMEX for their Green charge, then on the third try they issued it to me. Eight months later they upgraded me to Gold, and 15 months after that, Platinum. So I wouldn't rule them out entirely.

Don’t be too despondent, you are a lot closer to obtaining that Amex Card then you think.

I believe once that AAFES card utilization goes below 50%; you will see a remarkable improvement in your score, especially if you continue to making higher payments to your other cards.

I would suggest that you wait at least 60- 90 days and check your Debt to Credit Ratio. If you are at or below 30% total utilization you score should be a little higher that I would think Amex would welcome you.

Guys, that's silly. She's not interested, she knows she'll get a better deal if she waits.

I think we need to start a fantasy apping league! We could get a whole separate board going on this, trading inqs back and forth, upgrading and combining cards, with a special recon contest going.

Re: Why does AmEx taunt me?

I am SOOO there!  I played 'Fantasy Congress' last year when I was suffering from Fantasy Football withdrawal.

As for Amex -- I got the DG with a sub-600 score and it is a very boring 1k card for me.  Had I not been caught up in Amex Worship, I would have waited for a better offer.  I've got my eye on the Costco TrueEarnings for Jan 09, after 13 old, ugly student loan lates fall off.
