Re: Will a tax lien deny a card aplication?

The tax lien was only reporting on TU so I only had to dispute with them. My score did go up but then a CA updated their reporting date and it dropped a lot becuase of that since it looked like a new CA on my report.

It depends on how old the tax lien is... I have one but it's about 5 years old and WAMU just sent me a CC with a 2500 CL

Mine is from 1996 that is paid and reported as paid and I still have one that is from
1998 that I will be paying soon...

I was denied for these reasons today...( they pulled equifax wich is my best score 608 )

DELINQUENCY ADVERSE PUBLIC RECORD OR COLLECTION

I thought about disputing the tax lien again to try to get it taken off, but my loan officer (we're buying a new home soon) said that it would risk making it active again.  What does that mean?  He suggested contacting the courthouse and asking for them to remove it.  Any suggestions?

I have read somewhere that a tax lien will stay on 15 years and if it is not paid it
will restart or rereport for another 15 years if still not paid...
I think my adverse info from below is the fact that I paid the lien from 1996 and
it is now reporting to be on my CRA till 2014....

Once I paid one of my liens this year my score jumped 30 points on EQ and reported
paid release of tax lien, I am now disputing with the others to at least have them report
correctly...
These are so old and the initial dollar amounts are so small that it seams a hi price to
pay for these, I will try a GW to the franchise tax boards...

When you send them GW letters please post that letters here. I need to send a GW letter for my tax lien too.

Thanks
