Hello everyone,
I recently converted my venture one card to a venture card and my credit limit is $5,100 but my mastercard logo is the regular one with "world" on top of it, is there a way I can convert it to the world elite mastercard?
I spoke with Capital One they stated I need to call MasterCard so I emailed them they stated I need to call the issuing bank

Capital One will not upgrade an existing card to a World Elite MasterCard. As always, YMMV. Their usual canned response is "you will need to reapply for the World Elite MasterCard." Which is a misnomer since Venture One/Venture are once again on the Visa network.
Its a shame because the blue Venture/Venture One would look handsome with the silver MasterCard logo LOL. For what its worth, I have two Citibank WEMC's and have never used any of the additional perks/benefits.

You spoke with a Capital One Customer Service Rep. While they are fine people and mean well, sometimes they aren't quite up to speed on how things work.
The reply from Mastercard is correct: The issuing bank determines whether the card is WMC or WEMC.
I have a GM Buypower card from Cap One and it's a World Elite Mastercard.

Every GM Buypower card is issued as a WEMC- whether your limit is $300 or $15,000.

When i've inquired about changing my WMC QS to a WEMC, I've always been told "no" even at the EO level. It doesn't appear to be possible at this point to PC to WEMC.

I have been told that also to call MC and MC does not give out credit. Reps say that because they don't know and to much work to ask and find out.
I was told that you have to receive an offer for it to be upgraded....who knows...
