How does this work?

@wasCB14 provided you with international collect number, it's same for csp and csr. Call them
They may be legally required to use the address from the application to ship the first card.
Before applying for an Amex mid-travel, a phone rep told me to use my temporary travel address as the card's mailing address, then change the account's mailing address to my home address after I got the card. I was an existing customer, though, with all account security stuff in order.
Different issuer...but perhaps some law applies to both?
Just called the collect number. They said the card has already been shipped so they are going to cancel it and send a replacement to me. They asked a bunch of stuff for verification and all good.

That's great. Now we all know
Another DP, I had to get my second card shipped to me internationally as well (Canada this time). They just ask you some verification questions and you get to talk to 3-4 people from different departments, but the rest goes smoothly. If anybody is in a similar situation, give them a call!
Good to know that replacement cards are available if you leave before arrival. My biggest concern would be how long it will take to go through customs. While I am aware that there really is nothing to hide in the envelope there is that chance of delay.

My CSP arrived in 6 business days to Europe last time, if that helps.
