Just go for it when you're ready

Worst case scenario, you end up with HP. That's hardly end of the world.

Best case scenario, you end up with a great card, and lose a free harvester, which is what FP is.

Meanwhile, did you try to PC your cap one to QS yet?

Hi, sorry, but what is PC?

Product Change.  You can see if you're eligible to switch to the Quicksilver card that may better serve you long term. It's just a switch, not a new account.

Re: Would it be wise for me to remove First Progress credit card?

If you have a preapproval I would go for it. The sooner you open the next account the sooner it ages. I wouldn't worry too much about the disco APR or credit limit because in the future they can raise your credit limit and lower your APR on the card and If your profile improves they very probably will do both (although it might take a year). I wouldn't close your first progress card until you're approved for the disco card and it reports. I'd close it as soon as Disco reports if there are any fees. If no fees you could wait the year but it might be good just to close the $200 limit card anyway.

Re: Would it be wise for me to remove First Progress credit card?

Ok for sure! My score just jumped up 30+ points two weeks ago! So there's other options right now, where I'm seeing prequalification for Chase cards in my bank account. After I get another card, I'll close out FirstProgress after the new card reports.
