In other words, banks like credit to be used in moderation.  The speedometer in your car goes up to 120 miles per hour, but the car manufacturer and the highway authorities want you to keep your speed under 70.  Same with credit.

Re: Yikes! On the chopping block with Chase!

platinum elite my experiences with Chase saw two credit cards one business and one personal decreased. At first I was dumb founded (never any problems what so ever). Anyway, after I got over my whinning, I contacted Chase and said what's the score? After some conversation and updating (no Hard Inquiry) they reinstated my original credit lines. Understand how you feel and even though I read over and over on this forum ... "don't take it personal" ... it is personal! Even though it may have been a business decision along with computer driven it still is personal! After catching my breath (did not know much about this forum) I just did not feel if I did not seek reinstatement I could say much so, I took the attitude "nothing ventured nothing gained" and contacted Chase. Will say they were very professional and polite so that helped (don't like snarky). After finding this forum I learned much about how some things come on us and to be agressive in seeking a solution. Oh, I am convinced much of what happens is YMMV depending on how the lender's view our profile with them. While it is useful to try and put logic to data points it seems to be a moving target.
