A bit of an obscure point, but the cash value of MRs improves to 1.25 cpp with Schwab Platinum.

I fly enough that it's of no interest.

Re: Your personal preference on Chase UR vs. AMEX MR

At this time I have no interest in UR. And I just got my first MR card recently. There's a few reasons...I tried applying for the Chase Freedom last year and got denied, I may get approved now as my credit history is 1.5 years old at this point, but I recently hit 5/24. Also, the travel partners. Domestically I fly Delta and JetBlue most of the time, and for hotels I stay at Hilton. I'm aware that UR has many good partners I could use, but really I think I'd just get the Chase cards for the sign up bonuses. I ike to earn miles with the partners I travel on. I won't be under 5/24 until 2018 or 2019, and that's if I don't open another card.
