I applied in Nov 13 and was initially denied. Called CR to recon and thee approved with a $1000 limit. I use it for gas, groceries and utilities (cell and cable as they DONT charge me for using a cc) and occasionally other things. Ive app'd for an amex and a car loan since with no problems. Yesterday at the 6 month mark I was give a $2k auto cli. Overall I like the company
I have been with Barclays for 2.5 years - My experience with them has been mostly positive -
Pros -
All transactions are handled quickly - posting of payments - refunds - adding rewards - applying rewards (I only use mine for statement credit)
FICO scores - which more and more banks are including
Auto CLI every 6 months without fail
Have no problem letting you consolidate CLs between two cards
Rarely a long hold time to talk to a rep -
Cons -
Info from CSR can be quite inconsistent - so I have to make multiple calls sometimes to get info - and then look on line to see which answer is most often given.
@FocusedAndDetermined wrote:I have no complaints with Barclays. I first opened the Rewards MC with 10K signup bonus. Points posted immediately aftr spend was met. At the 6 mos mark, I received an auto CLI of $2.2K. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned that CVS, Walgreens and Targeet are coded as grocery stores, so that was a bonus 2%.
I recently got the Arrival.
No bad experineces with them - completely satisfied.
I'm aware of this on the Barclays Rewards card, but it doesn't work on Sallie Mae, right? I haven't had the Sallie Mae card long enough to try.
