chase store card

 i applied for a circuit city card to buy a new camera with no interest.  It is issued by chase but it is a store card.  I can't seen to get approved for a chase visa or mastercard.  Is this a good start or does one not have to do with the other?

Did you app in store on online?  I have the same problem.  Got approved for a 3k limit but didn't get the Visa. How can you get a 3K limit on a store card and not qualify for the Visa?  I was looking at my actual account FAQs online and it said it doesn't approve Visa online only store cards and to get the Visa you would ned to apply in store.  Mean to call today to find out the truth behind it.

Wanted to add called about converting and they said they don't.  I could jst as well run off withoout paying regardless of what card it was put on

generally it is not good to have a store card. You just got an AMEX and converted to BLUE, right? If so, then you are in the PRIME! why would you need a store card to get a camera? You were on the right track before. I would not do this if i were you.

The thing about the electronics store cards is that they have great financing offers which you cannot get with Amex.  Store cards do not decrease your score, they are actually useful to the credit mix as I understand.

Not only are they useful in the CC mix, but they are useful in Util% as well

But you're slipping from the prime back to the subprime mix. Isn't that right?

FICO des not care whether it is Prime SubPrime or other

It is impotant however to have as good credit mix

Just got a reply back from my email.  Said that you can applyfor both online but cannot convert
