fico scoring question about percent of use

I read somewhere here that running your cc balance up on one card to 75% is considered maxing out to the cb's--is that true?

Part two of question is if this amount still stays under total 30%uti--will it still hurt fico?

1. it varies on institution but having more then 75% util on one card is not wise. (allthough you should regain points after you pay down)

2. if it is considered maxed out on one card you mean? yes. no word on how much though.

so say you have 2 cards, 1 is a 1000 limit and the other is a 9000 limit to make it easy.

you have 900/1000 and 0/9000= 900/1000=9% util overall but the first card is 90% used

i have been dinged via myfico, amex, and ck for having  one of my 500 cards report at 450. after i paid off though the dings went away.
