help with fidelity amex

I have heard on this forum and from other people that you can still get 2% cash back as a statement credit instead of depositing into a fidelity account but I cannot find that anywhere on their website or agreement that was sent with my card, does anyone have a link or something that states this?

Re: help with fidelity amex

It might be true at higher levels (but like you I can't find it).   The closest is

https://www.managerewardsonline.fiacardservices.com/RMSapp/Ctl/link?eid=C71981FB#qa1

This shows what happens if you redeem into a non-Fidelity account.

5,000 points is $50 into Fidelity, but only $25 into another account.   But as you redeem more points, the gap narrows. 20,000 is $200 into Fidelity, $160 elsewhere.

But there is no real need not to open a Fidelity CMA.  Costs nothing, is useful, and you will get the full value of the rewards.

(One interesting thing though, the table shows that you can redeem 2,500 points for $12.50 into a non-Fidelity account, whereas the min into Fidelity is $5,000.   But this is turning a 2% card into a 1%, so not worth doing!)

I guess I'll just get the cma and make things easy for me, though it's sad that even when calling in the csa's have no clue as to the structure of the rewards Smiley Sad
