home depot credit card question

i am needing some advice. i have a home depot credit card that i got to get a grill 7 months ago. i got the card for 12 months no interest, and that was the only reason i got the card. i paid the grill off in about 3 months and now have this credit card that i have no intention of using. will this hurt my credit score if i have the card active and probably will only use it on rare occassions? just wanted to get some advice on this. thanks

It wont hurt your score by leaving it open in fact it helps by showing as an open account and aging not to mention you never know when you'll need it again

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: home depot credit card question

CITI's HD store card tend to be very generous with CLI's so I would venture to request a CLI if you havent gotten one at 6 months and it would help your overall UTI. Plus if it doesnt have an AF so SD it!

+1.

Keep it!

Buy a bottle of water every six months

Get a $10k+ limit.

Watch your FICO soar with this lovely tradeline.

I rarely use my $12k Lowe's card, but it's a three year old tradeline, which undoubtedly helps my score!!!:-)
Good luck!
