how do i remove AU's from my credit report.

i recently removed myself from 4 AU accounts do to its high balances hurting my FICO score which i just found to be 668.. the main reasons were the outstanding balances on these cards. how can i remove them from my credit report to send it to citibank for a recon for a citi forward student card. or do they just stay for some time... (-.-)

downside to removing the AU's is probably my credit history would begin about 2 years ago instead of 5 years ago.

I've been told that once you are removed as an AU the account gets removed from your CR, but you may have to wait a month until it stops reporting.

You will have to call to have yourself removed as an authorized user; It generally takes a cycle (~30 days) to drop off your credit report.

Hi again!

I wouldn't worry about the average age of accounts with the Forward card. My daughter was approved with only 6 months of history. With 2 years you will be fine.

You can try calling to get the accounts removed sooner. Otherwise as I indicated in the other thread, it takes about a month for your report to update. It will be interesting to see where your score will be at once your report updates. You will take a small hit on the average age, but dropping off all of those balances will help. After the AU accounts drop, will your own utility be less than 10%? I would just make sure that you pay down any balances you have on your own cards as primary holder.

I would love to see a success story for you and that you ultimately get your Forward card.

Re: how do i remove AU's from my credit report.

SO for messageboard people. you can call the credit bureau to remove the AU from your account so you don't have to wait until it falls off. quite fast if you ask me.

but i called citi, and then as i was talking to the representative, i got put on hold and then disconnected. THEN i called back and they were closed (-.-)

But I have no balances left over for my primary card (only card...) and i always pay in full and on time =) Only other then i worry about is my student loans...which are still deferred.. so i wonder. but i'll update ! thank you again!!!
