For example When I was 18 I opened a bloomingdales store credit card and recieved a 100 limit and about 13 years later never late , my card is upgraded to amex along with a 10,000 limit. i havent requested since 2 falls ago. I have 12 cards, you hae 14 CC and I doubt you need much more than that.
I have 7. I'm going to close two (BoA + Chase), and combine two PFCU cards to wittle down to 4. And keep those 4 for life. (2 Penfed, 1 NFCU, 1 USAA)
I'm about done with the game....
I have the following:
Cap1 Venture Visa Signature - $6400 CL
Cap1 NHCR MC - $750 CL (my DD is AU on this account and is using it to build her credit and learn to manage a card)
BoA BankAmericard 1-2-3 Cash Rewards Visa Signature (UCF Alumni Association) - $5000 CL
Discover More - $2000 CL
Citi Diamond Preferred MC - $6800 CL
Wells Fargo Rewards Visa - $7000 CL
Dillard's Amex - $6400 CL
JC Penney's - $2800 CL
Kay Jewelers - $5100 CL
Amex Green - NPSL
If you have enough to meet your spending needs without bumping up against your limits, and you can juggle the cards without stressing over it, then you don't have too much credit. Congrats on your nice portfolio.

Walter Cavanagh had 1,497 credit cards in 2005, so you all have a little way to go.
