I'll take the HP - funny he has not mentioned - I"ll ask - he said "I don't think it's a hard hit"

meh.

 

I did have a $51 gas bill hit the card, so its left open for a day until I pay it off and close it.  But we moved the funds

$2k to BofA Visa Rwdrs, $7500 to Fidelity AMEX

 

ps.  He did verify they would report for 10 years after I close the old MC.

The HP is behind the scenes, I think they mainly ask for general questions like income, etc. before they allocate the CLs.  If you're good with the HP, then no worries since the majority of folks tend to freak out over them.

So, far it hasn't bit me.

 

Gosh this is taking awhile  Still on phone.  Hope it goes through with the reallocation.

Meanwhile, I sent payment for that gas charge to 0 out the acount.   He left $500 on there, so I'll so close it in a frew days.

Correct - they typically leave ~$500 for any recurring charges that may get processed (Citi, Barclays and Chase do this as well).  Often times if the account hasn't had activity in over a couple months then they just transfer the entire line and close it out without leaving any residual CL.
