macys app help-required me to call in but no answer???

i applied and then got a message to call in.  I called and they just verified my credit card number.  He said that they will have an answer in 24 hours??? What does this mean?

You had to use another credit card as a reference for this application?

yea.  They wanted to verify it with a credit card.  I used my amex

I guess they really wanted to know it was you who was applying for the card.  Have you tried calling back recently?
