Dear NFCU Lending Committee,
I have been a member of NFCU since *blank*. I would like the Committee to know that I am so proud to be part of the largest credit union in the U.S. As satisfied member I want to avail myself of all the services that NFCU has to offer. Recently I applied for a rewards card but was denied. The reason given was *state reason*. I realize that I have had some credit challenges in the past but have done my best to reconcile them and now I am on the path towards a better credit future. I truly hope that NFCU would reconsider me for one of the rewards credit cards to assist me in getting to my goal of building a strong credit history with your prestigious institution. I am so happy to get my foot in the door with NFCU and pledge that were you to approve me for the rewards card, I will use it responsibly as I have with all of my current credit obligations. Were you to approve my request, you can rest assured that you will have a loyal member for years to come.
Respectfully submitted,
xxxxxx

Thank you everyone! It felt good to see "Approved because of your creditworthiness"! I just looked and the nrewards card is still under review. But I will keep updated on it. If I am approved for this card, should I close my Orchard Bank Card with $320 limit? I've had it since August 2010. Always paid on time but never received a CLI! I also have Military STAR Card since 2008 $1400 (2 CLI), Cap 1 since 2010 $500 (1 CLI), Cap 1 Rewards since 2011 $750 (1 CLI), USAA AMEX Secured since August 2012 (trying to get in USAA good graces) $250. Thank you in advance
Dont close anything! You need those for aging on your report for your score. Now on to the good stuff: Congratulations on your approvals and welcome to the NFCU family. Be good to them and they will be ultra good back!!!
Congras

Congrats! and I 2nd what anaother poster stated. Do not close any of your cards. You oldest card provides your AAoA and that is GOOD to have a card 2yrs and maintianing a positive trade line for you. I would suggest if you switch and use your new NFCU card primarily, then you use the lower limit card once every 5-6 months. Use it for a beverage or any low limit purchase to keep it active.
Once again congrats and dont think that toy limit card is useless. It has serve its purpose too; which was showing NFCU you PAY ON TIME!!!!
Garden now and stay for awhile
Congratulations!!!! I had a feeling you would get it. Navy is really good about giving CLI's. After a year, you should get a pretty huge jump in your limit if you use it responsibly. My coworker just asked for a CLI last month, the same time he applied for a refi of his vehicle. His jumped from 5000 to 15000!!! He also got a really good rate on the refi and got 400 dollars back . I believe he's only been with Navy for 4 months. NFCU still has vehicle a refi offer available but its down to 250 cash back now. Next month will be my 4th month with Navy also and I might ask them for some luv. I'd rather starve than miss a payment with NFCU.

I've only been with nfcu for three months and they have extended me with two credit opportunities, while I have been with USAA since 2007 and the best I can get with them is a secured amex! Lol but I plan to use it responsibility! I have been in an uphill battle repairing ny credit after the credit mishaps I had in my early 20s. I'm just giddy that nfcu is trusting in me. I just bought my car in July so too early to refinance. I will try for refinance in July 2013 and a home loan in December 2013
I have only been with NFCU for 1 month and refi'd my SUV ($400 in pocket due to their promo last month) and have a cashRewards (Highest limit out the rest). I was with USAA for 11yrs and was never offered any credit cards...wait I stand corrected a secured card. Call in for CLI a your 6 month or if you decide to go longer
