Are there any negative affects of having a credit balance on a cc? I overpaid by mistake.

Only that you gave them a free loan........

You will typically get a check within a few weeks after your statement cuts. Not sure if they keep it if you have current charges on your account for the current cycle or not though.

They are both under 25. I dont care about the interest. I guess just requesting a check is the easiest way to go. I hadn't planed on using the cards for a while.

There are no negative effects.  If you don't request a check, depending on what company it is, they will send you a check. But since you don't plan on using the card for a while, just request yourself it...

No negative affects.

I once overpaid my Synchrony ChevronTexaco card by $0.22. Never realized until a few weeks later (I use the card once a year) when they called me and said they were sending me a check in the mail for the 22 cent difference.

I've been procrastinating for almost two months to cash it, .
