Re: new Comenity Card & LUV Button question

Just my experience.  I remember when I started out, I was very impatient with the VS luv button.  I pushed it maybe once a month, and nothing.  Then I read up on it, and it looked like most people had no luck until 9 months out.  At that point, I held off and bided my time.  Then at about 6 months, I got and auto-CLI from them, no button push or anything.  Not sure what all that means in your case, but it is a case in point.  I know my FICO went up a lot in that time, so I almost wonder if just getting my FICO in better shape was the real key (?).

I push the luv button and call almost everyday lol never a hard pull. Comenity Bank  is easy to grow with Comenity Capital not so much.

As I am waiting to receive my victoria's secret card approved yesterday 8/21/2014 (from shopping cart trick). I am trying to get as much info as I can on how to use this card to my advantage to get my CS up.  I read the Comenity does not report unless there is a balance.  For this reason should I always let a small balance like $10 or $20 report on it, instead of making sure that it reports at a zero balance every month?  I want to first tell you that I am re-building and only have one other card which is an SDFCU Visa Secured $1000. This month is my first month of it reporting and my balance on the statement was $47 (almost 5% of CL).  In regards to my new Victoria Secret card, is it too early for me to try the LUV button? What does it look like and how do I get to it?  As always, your input is greatly appreciated.

Since you only have one other CC, I wouldn't recommend letting a balance post on this one if you're letting a balance post on that card.   VS usually takes 9 months to hand over an initial CLI.  I let a balance post after getting my 9 month CLI to get the new CL to update.

I would like it to report month to month so that it helps my cs increase. If I paid it down to $0 by statement date do you think it will still report? People are saying that it's not reporting if it's at $0 balance. I need as much positive reporting month to month as I can get.

Thanks Scupra . I pushed it and got the 7-10 msg. I hope it's a softie but if not...that's what I get for being impatient. I will get over it. The good thing about it is that my score can't fall too much lower than it already is.

Let us know! I bet you will get a letter stating your account is too new Smiley Happy

Yes, I'm sure. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the input. Did you pif your VS every month? If so, did it still report every month as "paid as agreed?" People were saying it wasn't reporting unless you had a balance.

Just checked DW's report and when PIF it still reported that month. Good luck on your rebuild!

Well. I have two comenity cards. Jcrew. And king size. I used once each. Never carry balance. And they both report every month. Don't know where you got that info from.

It was on this site someone was saying that their comenity card (may have been a vs but can't remember) hadn't reported in 8 months and they carried a zero balance. I was under the impression that this person didn't use their card,  not sure if this was explicitly stated. But one of the replies to this persons question was that with comenity cards you have to carry a balance for it to report (wording my have been different but that was what I gathered).  I am gonna try and find this again and re-read,  maybe I misunderstood something.  I don't plan to use the VS card much.  I just need to make sure it still reports positively every month. I was just wondering if I needed to do something differently than what I planned in order for this to happen.

Re: new Comenity Card & LUV Button question

I think they meant report for the first time like it won't show up until you use it once but once it's on there it stays with zero balance showing.

I didnt find that same post that I referred to yesterday but I have read countless others while trying to find it today. The issue is they are PIF every month bringing their balance $0. I was at the VS site earlier and I read that if you have a zero balance a statement will not generate for you which probably means that they dont feel there is anything to report to the cb's. Someone chimed in saying that they always PIF minus .50 triggering a statement to generate and a reporting to go out to the cb's of $0 balance. I think I am gonna take that route just to be safe.  I also read, for those who were not reporting monthly.....if they used their card in a fashion causing a statement to generate, when it does report to the cb's it does fill in all the missed months positively.  But because (right now) I do want mine to report on a monthly basis, I am gonna leave a .50 balance at least for the next few months.
