Hello,
I wanted to add a new cc to my profile that i can use for everyday spending. looking for the best time to apply for chase freedom to get the highest CL.
My cards are
Target open for 10yrs old 1k CL - owe 0
amex blue 7yrs old 15k CL - owe 1300
amex prg closed - good stand.
chase slate 8months old - 6k limit owe 4k from BT.
no baddies - 1 hp last year.
i'm at about 22% util. with 55k income.
should i wait to bring down the chase balance before i apply ? looking for at least 9k CL

IMO you will be approved regardless of whether you apply now or later.
However, I would recommend you apply after you bring down the Chase balance. That way, you will be given a higher CL.

IMO you will be approved regardless of whether you apply now or later.
However, I would recommend you apply after you bring down the Chase balance. That way, you will be given a higher CL.
I agree. You an instant approval but the lower your UTL the higher your CL will be.

When I applied for my Chase Amazon Visa, i was still in college. Got approved for 2k. I got a pending message and forgot about it. Card came approx 3 weeks later. score was bout 670-690 with >80% utilization on my WF. I didn't know utilization matters then and now that I think of it I am surprised I even got approved.
Applied for CSP and Freedom March 2013. Scores was 768 Experian FICO (got it from Amex). Initial limits was uh 8-12k for each card. Can't remember exactly because I applied for too many LOL. Asked for CLIs and got 2 auto CLIs and these are my limits now.
