Discover hasn't updated for me at all since the end of February.

Bummer since I got a CLI in April. Smiley Sad

Same for me.. got a CLI on 02/03 and the new CL got reported 04/03 ... March they skipped completely but when they did report it was always the statement balance in the past.

For whatever reason, Discover has not reported for me since March 2 --- a 62.00/ 5000 balance ( used the card too close to closing date with some pendings out there) Somehow I managed to have a similar small balance report for April closing. Paid to zero balance for May closing. No update on CRA since March. Annoying, really because the new myFico scoring, dropped,me 7 points in April for having too many cc with a balance. Strange, two cc report in  March and score stays at 745. Very next month in April with balances the same except for maybe 10.00 change and I get dinged for too many cards with balances (that's 2/5 cards). Just wish Discover would update so maybe I can get my score, back to 745. Can't be too mad at Discover though since I got a sp CLI  5000 to 8000 on May 2.

Congrats on your CLI. I would not expect a reporting the month you get a CLI... Discover has often completely omitted the reporting in the month where there was a CLI.

In the past Discover always reported the statement balance for me but this month it got a random amount and not what was on the statement balance. (Noticed because I needed a 0 balance reporting this month )  Discover explained me that they report the account balance on the last business day of the month Smiley Surprised  Is this new? Anybody else noticed this lately?

For me Discover reported as they always do on the 9th of each month.

Thanks. 10 months out of 12 months I could not care less on what Discover reports or does not report but May and November I wanted zero balance .. ..I guess I gambled with the wrong lender for this util manipulation. Smiley Sad

Mine has always reported the statement balance unless my statement cut on a weekend, then it reported whatever the balance was on the following business day.  They will also skip the month that you get CLI.

hmm...05/03 was my statement cut date and this was a Saturday.....so they reported the balance on 05/05 instead ?  The CRA have the date 05/07 ..Good to know. As for the CLI I can confirm this happended to me too..no reporting in March as CLI in February billing cycle. Thanks for this info.

Re: new reporting practices for Discover?

They recently skipped reporting two months on me. I think something's going on. Not sure what, however.

Re: new reporting practices for Discover?

Update:  Discover offered an off-cycle reporting but this time again it got with a random amount.... Smiley Sad... give up with Discover 0 balance reporting is a mission impossible it looks. Statement balance of (-19.10$) got reported +15$ and off-cycle report with yesterdays balance of (-29,74$) got reported with +68$... nobody knows where these amounts come from but since all 3 credit bureau report the same funny amounts it looks that the Discover reporting is  with random amounts and not the actual account balance. Well if I ever want to try to report 0 balance on all but 1 account it will have to be the Discover account with the balance as the zero balance  reporting simply does not work on Discover account and failed twice now.

Have to agree with this. tried two months in a row to get zero to report. So, Discover will have to be my 1-9% card for a bit .

Re: new reporting practices for Discover?

This thread is a bit disappointing.  I wonder why they don't report a CLI on the next statement... Otherwise, they have been great for me so far.

I'll be requesting a CLI tomorrow on my it and was planning on requesting one with USAA and Chase after that increase reported.  I would have had a zero balance last month if I knew about this a bit sooner.  More waiting, I suppose.

On the other hand, I recently received a CLI from GE the day before my statement cut, and that new limit was reported the next day (along with my statement balance, as usual).

Good luck with your CLI. If it does not get reported on your next statement/reporting  you can call Discover and ask for an off-cycle report. Just not sure if it would report the new CL as the zero balance does not get reported when the balance is negative but worth a try anyhow Smiley Happy Discover does not mind an off-cycle reporting and it is done in seconds on the phone....for me next day appeared on the CR just not with the amount I needed.....LOL...their reporting flunked for my needs.

Thanks for the luck and the tip!  I'll likely ask them to report if the new CL doesn't show up (assuming I'm approved), as I have other plans I'd like to move forward with Smiley Wink
