It states "poor credit history with nfcu" and bankruptcy. It's weird because they gave me two small increases over a month ago$2k total and my score has gone up like 30-40pts since. It doesn't make sense unless they just want to see how I handle my new limit ?
How old is your credit account?
Is it possible that they based their decision on an old credit report pull?
Don't some (or most?) credit unions do one pull and then use the same report to make credit decisions for 90 days or so?
And why would they give a reason of "poor credit history with NFCU"? That implies that you've done something wrong (late payments, defaults, whatever) with them in past? If that's not the case, why would they give that as a reason?
Maybe it wouldn't hurt to call?
YOU: Hell0, Mr. Happy NFCU employee
NFCU: Hey 'sup! What can I do for you?
YOU: Listen, *BUrp* I applied for [name what you applied for] and I got a denial and I had a couple of questions that I'm hoping you might be able to answer. For example, one reason for the denial was a "bad credit history with Navy Fed". Could I get some specifics on that? I mean, I want to foster a great relationship with you guys and want to do everything I can to fix whatever issues that you think I might be deficient in...
NFCU: Of course!

I've had it since Sept of last year . Payments always on time and over the minimum.
If the reasons given for the denial are not applicable to your history with nfcu, you should call and speak to a rep and find out why they think you deserve a negative payment rating.Unless there is something from the past which you are unaware of then this situation could be an error on their part.
