Just for the record:
If you send in a written application via snail mail for multiple
NFCU credit products, it only counts as 1 hard Equifax pull.
If you call or apply online, each NFCU credit product counts
as 1 hard EQ pull.
So in essence, if you're willing to wait a little while NFCU will
only hard pull once. If you want more immediate service, they
hard pull once per credit product.
Of course, in a perfect world it'd be nice if NFCU just pulled our
EQ reports once within a certain timeframe no matter how many
credit products we app for (like PenFed, for example). Perhaps
sometime in the future the policy will change.
And if by chance you apped online or over the phone for multiple
products and NFCU only hard pulled once, consider yourself the
exception and not the rule.
On the flipside, all requests for credit limit increases every 6 months
are soft pulls, so I guess it all comes out in the wash.
