Re: "See ID" or Sign..

Techinally "See ID" is signing your card. There was an article that came out around a year ago that said no matter what you sign it with, your still responsible.  I used to do smiley faces and the clerk never cared. Another guy used to write "Not authorized". "See ID" is also against all issuers rules. Source: http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/sign-or-write-see-ID-1282.php

Technically, it is not signing your card unless your name is "See ID" and you typically sign documents that way. By definition, a signature is your own personal depiction of your name.

Re: "See ID" or Sign..

I think it would be extremely petty if a merchant declines you because your card says 'see ID', im only trying to protect myself from fraud.

Techinally it is signing, just not your name. If inks on the sig strip then its been signed. With what God only knows but is still signed.  Either way, writing "See ID" is against the rules though I seriously doubt anything will happen to you.

Re: "See ID" or Sign..

It just boils down to this: USE WISDOM. Everybodys method is going to be different, so just USE DISCRETION.
