Re: what score to get a Fidelity Amex or Schwab Visa rewards card

High FICO scores based on thin credit files are not indicative of the obtainable results upon application for credit. It takes more than a high FICO score to be successful. It takes a credit history, too!

Re: what score to get a Fidelity Amex or Schwab Visa rewards card

When I was approved for the Schwab card a couple months ago I had a ~720ish FICO.

I think I had a pretty solid file on other grounds than the score, though - the only reason it is that low currently is because within the last year I've opened a number of new CC accounts (all from the so-called "prime" lenders and with fairly decent ~$10k CLs), closed on a new home with a mortgage, and had a new student loan begin reporting as well.

It's by far my favorite card though - so definitely worth it to hang in there and re-apply down the road. Smiley Happy

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
