Definitely close the Simplicity and transfer to TYP.
TYP at least has a point structure, and occasionally gets offered bonus categories via e-mail to use throughout the year!

If you only want one Citi card, I'd definitely keep the TYP.
What the other two have said, for sure! Tell us how Citi treats the matter of transferring your whole CL and closing card.
I am waiting to see what happen.
I feel the same way.
I don't know what to do since I don't want to loose the Age of the account that I will be closing.

Closed TLs may stay on your CR's for up to 10 years.

So it would be counted as regular age? So I can close one?
It will count towards AAoA of all accounts.
It will no longer count towards AAoA of open accounts after closure.
Unless already have thick file, unable or unwilling to manage card, or deal with issuer, or there is a non-negotiable AF etc, very few considerations trump open TL age to justify account closure IMHO.
Hope it works out the way you want it, whatever you decide.

Where does AAoA of open accounts matter (apart from Credit Karma)?
