2 in 10 would give up alcohol for an 800 score

Americans have massive credit score misconceptions, study shows

'About 20 percent of people said they would give up alcohol for a score of 800'

I'm not a heavy drinker by any means and I still wouldn't do it. lol

I don't drink, anyway ; - )

How many would give up alcohol, and thus have the option of getting all their collections and charge-offs deleted?

I think this is one of those silly articles written when maybe the author was having a glass of wine, or two, while perusing her credit scores. The article just doesnt make any sense at all. Thumbs down.

Compared to the knowledge on these forums, most of the mainstream articles concerning credit are just content-fillers.

But we can't blame Brittany....blame 'CompareCards by LendingTree', the source of the 'study'.

Her headline is "Americans have massive credit score misconceptions, study shows". Judging by the comments below that article on Fox Business, a headline of "Americans have massive credit score misconceptions,  comments show" would also work.

If every time a MyFico member wanted to apply for a new card they had a glass of wine instead.

Maybe alcohol consumption would lead to higher scores !    Heart
