Re: Chase/Amazon Breakup

So the Amex account didn't show as closed on your credit report? And a new account didn't just appear?

Re: Chase/Amazon Breakup

Was that directed at me?

AmEx was either closed or PCed (can't remember) and Citi was added and backdated, so it showed up as an old account.

Yeah but my Amazon card is less than a year old which is below my AAoA so wouldn't it changing lenders harm my account? If that happens I might be better off just canceling the card with chase before it closes and applying for some other card and getting a SUB

If both stayed open, yes, but that is pretty rare that both accounts stay open and you can ask that that change that so it doesm't lower your AAoA on the rare chance it does.

Re: Chase/Amazon Breakup

So the account would likely stay the same but the name of it on my reports might change?

Re: Chase/Amazon Breakup

The old servicer will still show up, but they don't count. You can also have them removed manually.

Not in my experience.  AmEx converted the Costco card to a Blue Cash so it was never closed.  The Citi Costco card retained the history of the Costco AmEx True Earnings account when it reported.

Sounds like a sweet deal. Would be nice if chase offers a PC if they give up the Amazon portfolio.

We shall see.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, to be honest. Conversions happen all the time and it's doubtful anything disadvantegous (reporting-wise) would happen regardless what the outcome is with the Chase Amazon card.  So, I wouldn't rush into doing anything drastic right now because sometimes things can backfire.
