Barclaycard no longer processing cryptocurrency purchases

Saw this interesting note in my Barclaycard statement:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Due to the risks created by the use of credit cards to purchase cryptocurrency in an unregulated, volatile market, Barclaycard US will no longer process such transactions beginning February 28, 2018. We will continue to review this issue as these types of currencies evolve.

Risk management is all very much part of their business can't say I blame them.

Agreed; can't blame them.  It seems that the trend is to see less acceptance by banks rather than more.  Maybe it will change over the long term....time will tell.
