Re: HSBC Exit US

I came back on here, to read reviews from you guys on other banks. I couldn't be any more unhappier to have Citzens take over my checking account. I had been with HSBC for almost 7 years, and never had problem. However, Citizens.. I had the unfounrate luck to have them take over my mortgage servicing from ASC/Wells Fargo.

They screwed things up so badly, that I ended up in Tax Foreclosure, not because I had missed payments, but because they didn't remit a check to my county, and my home had a lien placed agianst it. The cherry on top was, they didn't want to pay the interest, and penalites that were assesd by my county, and I had to get the CFPB and State Attorney General involved to make them pay the difference.

I hate, hate, hate this bank so much. And not only did they screw up our routing and account numbers, so they don't work, they didn't even mail me a ATM Pin on time (since they decided to get rid of all of ours). Now, none of my recurring payments work, and my debit card was deactivated. I don't understand, why this needed to be done. I remember when Chase took over WaMu back in 2008, and almost everything was seamless.

I'm probably going over to Chase. And I encourage everyone else to consider other options. You DO NOT want Citizens to be your primary account.

Re: HSBC Exit US

Checked my Citizens mobile app this morning.   Legacy checking and CC accounts are there but there is nothing related to HSBC other than the popup welcoming HSBC customers.

HSBC still shows my Cash Rewards card.   Saturday's purchase had posted, also shows that the payment I pulled from BoA on Sunday is pending.

Sheesh.

Re: HSBC Exit US

Citizens did not merge the HSBC checking account under my legacy Citizens profile, so for giggles and grins I created a new login.  Voila!

I tried calling in to get funds transferred from new to legacy account with new account closed but bailed when the robolady warned of a mininum 60 minute wait.

Plenty of Citizens branches in and around Boston within the Rte 128/I-95 loop so I should be able to deal with this in-branch.

IME PNC did a much cleaner job executing the BBVA migration.

Re: HSBC Exit US

Went to a nearby branch.  Waited < 5 minutes for a CSR to free up and he looked up and found both accounts, filled out the forms to get the money moved from the former HSBC account to the legacy account then close the former HSBC account, then had a teller execute the moves.  I have receipts detailing the withdrawal and subsequent deposit.

I didn't bother asking about the CC as that's something way out of a CSR's scope of influence.

Re: HSBC Exit US

This morning the mobile app shows both checking accounts.  The legacy account balance reflects the deposit made yesterday and the migrated HSBC account shows a $0 balance with a single transaction recorded that is labeled as a Closing Withdrawal.

Re: HSBC Exit US

so the LOC is back in the Citizens portal

but my HSBC CC is still in the HSBC mobile app - i am assuming now that it ISNT moving

i used it in Jan 2022 - i am going to let it sit and be closed for inactivity i guess

for the LOC and checking, i am not going to pay for a checking acct - so i will close them both in the next 2-3 months (i think it is a 4 month grace period before the monthly checking fee starts)

Re: HSBC Exit US

The only thing that is good with the LOC is they kept the low APR of 7.99% that I had with HSBC I only got that rate because I have the Advance Cheque account if not it would have been 12 something. Still no word on the CC.
