@Anonymous any insider info I know I'm horrible
Sure thing @Scupra. The card is a branded card -- meaning the approval, customer service, and rewards are all managed by Navy Federal. Last I recall the rewards were going to be similar to the GoRewards card (3 points gas, 2 points restaurant, 1 point everywhere else). Don't quote me on the specific rewards, but the idea is that it's a points card.
The rewards earned with the card will be Navy Federal reward points -- not American Express Membership Rewards. As it is not a Centurion Bank issued card, a lot of the benefits American Express offers does not apply. Though the card should have similar or better benefits (like rental car coverage) than the GoRewards card.
No information has been released about the ability to convert to/from the card, but I don't see why one would be restricted (currently you can convert to/from a Mastercard/Visa). Product changes do not result in an inquiry, though they do result in a loss of any related rewards.
It's no longer a secret that Navy Federal will be offering an American Express card, but all the details have not yet been finalized. For those NFCU cardholders considering applying for this card, please keep in mind the maximum credit limit one is eligible for may need to be split into two different cards. In order to obtain the highest credit limit, I generally don't recommend owning multiple cards with the same card issuer (no matter who it is).
Update on this:
Rewards Structure is expected to be:
3points per dollar on gas and groceries, 2x restaurants, 1x everywhere else.
Max. credit limit is $50k for those who qualify. Generally, members are limited well below that in their first year.
Also, product changes and convenience checks are not available.

Thanks for the update!
It's looking like it will be similar to the BCE (assuming the points are worth 1¢), which will likely interest many people.

Interesting. Hopefully NFCU rewards aren't as much of a pain in the neck as Centurion Bank. That's the reason I don't use BCE for groceries, because I don't spend enough to deal with their cashback program.

Yikes! I don't think a 3rd card will be easy
