Re: Starwood scraps deal with Marriott

Interesting Information.. Wonder if more people will be grabbing the SPG amex with the juicy 35k signup and marriott for that matter while they are hot.. Especially the SPG as those points are worth alot if not devalued which they shouldn't be anytime in the near future since deal fell through with marriott.  Probably a good thing for SPG holders!

Re: Starwood scraps deal with Marriott

Well, it appears they ARE still buying bought out, just not by Marriott. That said, I'd expect the SPG program to remain unchanged for awhile still.

Re: Starwood scraps deal with Marriott

Yes being bought out, but not by another hotel chain which is good for the rewards program most likely as they are among the most valuable as I am sure you are aware.  Might have to pick up this card now to float my tax bill, think it might be worth it on bonus and hit to Exp, of course would grab PRG at same time Smiley Happy..  I didn't need to see this today lol

Awesome!

I couldn't care less who buys Starwood, just don't mess with (1) my lifetime Plat status, and (2) the SPG program.  For now, reallocate all non-general spend to my SPG card!

Really wish I could app for the 35K bonus!

The SPG bonus doesn't expire until the 30th. You have time to think on it...don't let my devil horns tempt you!
