Nah, 673: which historically is right where it has been from what I recall seeing over time. GA was the low entry at the 642, that wasn't the average score nationwide.
It depends on what data set the article is referencing [VantageScore 3.0 or Fico] or one of the CRA models such as Experian's Plus score or Equifax score.

As I recall there are no states in common for top 5 VS compared to top 5 Fico. Minnesota was highest based on VS3 and Experian Plus score..
