Has anyone ever heard of this? About 2 months ago I paid off my Providian (now WAMU) Visa (CL is $1000, now at a zero balance). My average balance carried on that card was about $600. I have not charged a single thing on the card since then. I got an letter in the mail that if I make 9 purchases on the card by 7/31, I would get a 3% cash back rebate on my Sept statement. Has my card been flagged for inactivity? I have never seen something like this before but I suppose it's a smart marketing tool to get someone to start charging again. I have no plans to charge on it but should I take this as a sign that I better? Can they close for inactivity? How long is too long not to use a card?
