Hi All! I have a client that has a JCPenney Synchrony Card. They make sure to use it to keep the credit line open and to avoid it being closed.
Right now, they are focusing in AZEO. Because the card is a Synchrony Card, would it count toward AZEO as the one card or should they pay it off and allow another bank credit card to post a balance?
Thanks,
Tyra
Do you know WHY your client is focusing on AZE0?
If they're interested in seeing score behaviour on Fico 8 models, it doesn't matter.
...if they're trying to boost their mortgage scores, they should use a major bank card for AZE0.
Hope that helps!

@tcbofade Thanks for your reply. For overall Fico 8 optimization. They'll want their mortgage score optimized as well, but they can wait for the best optimization for the month of August. Also, is using the store card enough or should it ideally post a small balance to help with the history?
Using it is what matters. Synch knows it's been used whether or not a balance reports.

The issuer will know the card is active without reporting a balance to the credit bureaus. They can use the card and pay it off before the statement cuts.
I would avoid using a store card because only partial points are awarded when the store card is used for the non-zero card. It should be a bank card for optimizing scores. Try to avoid using store cards, charge cards, some credit union CCs (depends on if they code properly - if they have time to test first, they can try), and Chase cards (because when you pay balance to $0, it off-cycle updates and can bring them to all zero and get penalized for it).
Most store cards are issued by banks, but are still not bankcards because they cannot be used everywhere that accepts CCs, just at specific store(s)

@Anonymous Thank you for your reply and mentioning those details.
