Account hard inquiries

How long will it take until I gain points back due to too many inquiries over a short period of time.

Re: Account hard inquiries

hi TJ5 -

A full year from the date of the inquiry.

Inquiries will remain on your reports for 2 years, but become unscorable after 12 months.

Re: Account hard inquiries

So, someone can expect to GAIN points as inquiries fall off?

Re: Account hard inquiries

When inquiries hit their 1 year mark, they become unscoreable and points lost are regained.    They don't fall off your reports though till they reach 24 months (25 months on Experian).

Re: Account hard inquiries

Thanks. I’ve called Experian recently and had two 23 month inquiries removed. They took them as disputes ‘too old’ and removed then by the next Morning. No questions asked.

Yes,  I should have clarified -- they'll typically remove early upon request - but if you don't request, they'll fall off naturally in the 25th month for Experian.
