Ad Astra Removed 1 Account from collections

Ad astra claimed that I owed them for 2 different payday loans. Well the thing is I got no loans at all from any of the companies that they stated. I have been trying for months to tell these folks this. I placed a complaint with the cfpb and the responded that they verified. I disputed their claim and all of a sudden 1 account was removed from my credit report, but not the other. What else can I do as they are truly not my accounts. Any one experiance this with this company?

File a police report, thus putting your assertion that you never authorized an account with them into a sworn statement before a law enforcement agency.

Then follow the identity theft process of FCRA 605B by submitting the police report to the CRAs.

That will result in block of the reporting from any credit reports issued by the CRAs, which will also remove from scoring without need for approval by the creditor or debt collector.

See the sticky post relating to the idendity theft process that is provided in the upper section under the General Credit Topics forum.

Re: Ad Astra Removed 1 Account from collections

If you are using the identity theft process, there is NO involvement of the debt collector.

Any FTC fraud affidavit and police report is sent directly to the CRA, along with proof of your identity.  See the list of requirments under FCRA 605B.

Once you have sent the required items set forth in section 605B directly to the CRA, then the CRA must block the collection from your credit report.

You dont need to send anything to the debt collector in order to have their collection blocked from your credit report, and thus excluded from your credit scoring.

Once the CRA has blocked the collection from futher credit reports, the CRA is required to send notice of that fact to the debt collector.  You do not have to provide the debt collector any notice.
