Amex question - about prior problem with Amex

Just wondering ---- I would love to have the Amex Blue but I do remember having Amex troubles back in 1990. That's 17 years ago. Any chance I can apply and they won't have that still on record?

I remember reading that American Express has an Oaisis program that will get you back in their good graces. Many on this forum has had success obtaining a new card with them after prior delinquency. Tuscany listed the phone number the other day in a post.

Re: Amex question - about prior problem with Amex

I truly don't remember. It might have been charged off or paid - but since I haven't pulled my CR until now, knowing that it would just be a disaster, I focused on just paying off anyone who asked me for money and they weren't one of them. I just don't know how I left things with them, but I remember getting a great traveling job and my boss said, "You need a cc, get Amex" - so I did. It was fine until a few years went by and I just was overextended. Curiosity is getting the best of me. Part of me wants to apply to see what happens. But maybe I should call them instead. I have focused on making sure everyone has been paid over the last 5 years and that's been a great feeling. Holding multiple jobs (clown) and doing everything to pay people off. I'm so happy. Now it's just time to get the few things off of the report that are showing old, late, but paid.

Do you know your FICO scores? If so, post em and I will give you my answer. I am tending to agree with Timothy though.
