Are veterinary collections counted as medical?

Probably a dumb question, but I have a collection from a $2500 vet bill. I know medical bills are not included when calculating DTI. Just trying to figure out if the vet bill qualifies as a medical bill or not. Thanks!

Not medical unless the animal has a credit report. 

It's a plain collection.

Not a dumb question but gave me pause to wish we could file our fuzzy children as dependents with IRS because they darn near are as expensive. 😁
