So my fiance went thru a divorce back in 2015 and as a result they let a 811k mortgage foreclose and settled all credit cards for less than owed. She bought a Lexus and paid cash all but $7500.00. The NC State Employees credit union has the loan now however it only reports to Equifax. So I have my business and personal accounts with BB&T so she appllied for a loan for the balance of her Lexus loan of $4,000.00 and I signed a letter wanting them to put her on my truck loan. They told her yesterday that she needed 2 more years of perfect payment history and that they could not help her. Now she has a State Employees credit card $3500.00 llimit. Capital One $2500.00 and she is an AU on my BB&T card, American Express Card, Wells Fargo card and State Employees card. What would be the best thing to do? Find another bank that reports to all 3 bureaus and refi her car and or do a secured loan of say 10k to 15k with a bank? And what bank would you suggest for that? Thanks
If you're just trying to get an installment loan reporting to all 3 bureaus for her, just do a share secured loan for a few hundred bucks. The amount is irrelevant for gaining the scoring benefits. . doesn't need to be for anywhere near $10 or $15k.
