BBVA Soft Pull - What is this/Where did it come from?

I like to take a look at my soft inquiries every once in awhile to see who’s checking on me lol and I saw BBVA for the first time. I’m not certain what this is and why they would check my report. I wanted to post on here to see if anyone else has had this happen before?

Unless you've opted out (via https://www.optoutprescreen.com ), you'll see soft inquiries for all kinds of pre-approval marketing, if you match the criteria that a lender is looking for.

If you mean why BBVA... they're a bank. A fairly large one. I shredded a random offer from them last week. It's normal...

How do you check your soft pulls? Curious since I've never been able to figure it out. If a HP doesn't hit and CCC is known to reliably pull that bureau I just assume it was on that bureau, would love to be able to know.

@AllZero @iv I’ve never heard of them before and when i googled it nothing bank related came up in the search, so it kind of weirded me out.

So i guess it’s a good thing a large bank is checking on me then lol.

If you Google BBVA, it shows you the website as the first link. Then it shows you a wiki article about the international arm of the bank.

You googled "BBVA" and nothing bank related came up?  That's  ....  weird.  Their web site is my first hit.  The wiki page is number two.  Maybe try BBVA USA.  They recently were BBVA Compass.  They are a HUGE multinational.

In any case, the experience I have had with them has been entirley positive, and although I do not personally bank with them they have some decent products.

@BallBounces Yes when i googled BBVA a few sporting good stores popped up and a couple things in Spanish were my search results. I thought it was extremely strange as well.
