@gingerflower wrote:I think anyone would be upset with 14 fraud charges on a debit card. I caught the fraud charges on time and Boa fraud was on it. But, still being with Boa 16 yrs I have never got fraud charges on my debit card. I asked the fraud dept how was this possible bcuz I have never used the debit card anywhere since it was activated last month. Fraud dept could not give me an answer. So that is the reason 'WHY" I AM UPSET WITH BOA!
I can tell you how this happened because something similar happened recently to me with PenFed.
Hackers used a random card generator to "guess" your card number, they start with a of block numbers, then run through various combinations until they find ones they can use.
They usually do transactions for $0.00 or $1.00 before they try a larger amount.
My debit card was never activated & sat on my home office desk since the day I got it in the mail, but yet hackers were able to make numerous attempts on the card, PenFed's Fraud Dept contacted me via text, then phone.
Lots of bad actors out there, stay vigilent with all of your accounts.
