I have 3 accounts still showing balances even though I filed them in BK 2 years ago. Can they do this? If not, any tips on how to get them showing a $0 balance?
No, they cannot show a balance. If the account was not charged off when you filed, then they also cannot list it as a charge off either. By law they have to charge it off, but they cannot list it that way if it was not a charge off when you filed.
Dispute with the credit bureaus. Tell 'em it was included in the BK and should have a $0 balance.
