For all of us with a relationship(good or bad) with Capital One, what was your starting CL versus what you have at present?
5/11 $500>$750(auto-CLI)>$1250(luv button)>$5k(FB complaint 9/13)
Whats in your wallet?
My cap one has been opened since 2/12 $300>$500 (6 mo auto cli) and there it has stayed.
I've hit the luv button several times with no luck.
I recently tried the EO and still not got no luv, even though I have cards will substantially higher limits and have never had a late payment on the cap one card
I guess they just don't like me ![]()
03/10 Open 300, 12/10 auto to 700, 10/11 Auto to 900 been stuck there ever since and is currently SD, dont care about it, its my lowest limit. 5K is my avg CC limit.
9/2012 $500 ~ 2/2013 $750 ~ 2/2014 $3,750 ~ 3/2014 Upgraded from CapOne Platinum to CapOne QuickSilverOne
Card 1 - (1999) Starting CL $750 IIRC -> $1200 from auto cli sometime in 2001 -> $2200 from auto cli sometime in 2004 -> Luv button denial 1/2014 -> Luv button success to $7200.
Card 2 - (10/2000) Starting CL $1000 -> $1500 from auto cli at same time in 2001 -> Luv button denial 2/2014 Have not tried again.
Card 3 - (5/2001) Starting CL $700 -> Never had a cli. Closed 11/2013 by me because of low limit and $5 monthly fee they would not remove.
Card 4 - (12/2001) Starting CL $1250 -> Never had a cli. Probably will be on chopping block next year because of $5 monthy fee they won't perm. waive.
These were my first cards post BK in 98. I never really asked for CLI until recently because I didn't know I could...
I have 2 Cap 1 accts, both opened Nov 2011 (one was a former HSBC that Cap 1 took over in 2013)
1. starting limit $750, CLI to $1250 via EO in June 2013, CLI to $5000 via EO in March 2014 and product change to Quicksilver
2. (former HSBC card) starting linit $500, CLI to $750 sometime in 2012, CLI to $2,000 March 2014 via EO
5K cash rewards VS 12/12 and now QS VS 10K
wallet Europe = all no FTF cards
wallet US = 5% cards and Amex BCP, Citi AA
750 to 1250 to 4500 where its at now.
the wife started at 1250 and has had her card longer than I have and theyve never raised it for some reason. Her credit score is pretty much the same as mine.
Hopefully more folks will chime in, but the trends I'm seeing are:
1. If you started with a low CL, you can fight your way up to ~$5k over time. But its a fight.
2. Once you make $5k, it'll likely be a struggle to go higher. Which isn't very different from when you had a low CL. $5k seems to be an average "high".
Product: Cap1 Journey Credit Steps Program
Opened: July 2012
Starting CL: $500
1st CLI: $250 ($500 to $750) on 7th statement (Auto luv)
2nd CLI: September 2013 through EO: $750 ($750 to $1500) Also PC'd to QS w/ no AF
3rd CLI: February 2014: $3000 ($1500 to $4500) through Luv Button
Here's my current status w/ Cap1, looking forward to breaking $10k by end of this year...I know it's a fight, but i know it can happen as Cap1 seems to be pretty generous lately.
