Generally, you are only put in chexsystems if the bank closes your checking account on a negative balance. This typically happens after an account has been overdrawn for 45-60 days. I worked for Bank of America for several years in the recent past.
I would like to know what evidence individuals can provide or their experiences as to BOFA's no chexsystems policy. From my working relationship with them - they use chexsystems to open accounts and report closed/NSF account activity.
"BOFA doesn't use chexsystem. Open new account there and forget this ever happened"
This is incorrect. BofA does indeed report to checksystems. However, if your account is sent to a ca and reported on your cp they will have deleted if you pay it off.
All I know is this... I opened not 1 but 2 checking accounts at BOA... but NASA FCU denied me because of Chexsystems. That tells me that BOA must not use Chexsystems as a deciding factor. However, BOA denied me a credit card. Chase and USAA love me, though... so phooey on BOA. LOL
I am not trying to be difficult. But, what evidence do you have to support your claim as I was an account representative and a teller for BOFA for several years in the very recent past. In my experience we always used chexsystems.
