I have a basic question. I had an account that I was delinquent on, then it was closed and sold to a collection agency. Then the collection agency took it to court. I settled with the collection agency before the court date. Now I have a negative account on my CR that says -settled less than full balance, and last month I noticed that a public record was added to my CR that states judgement against me for this account. Could CA still somehow get a judgement after a settlement? Secondly, assuming I did NOT settle the account and they actually received a judgement, would this be a case of double reporting, as this account is listed with my other accounts and as a public record? Any help would be much appreciated!
