I have several store cards that I thought I would use when I got them. The fact is, that I really don't. I'm wondering if anyone knows what kind of an effect it would have m on my credit score if I closed them all at once and just did away with them. Thanks in advance.
it wont affect your score, if it has no AF, then maybe try to keep it open?
Closing them won't hurt you score at all, as long as you feel like you could keep your utilization low without the benefit of the extra credit limit you get from the store cards. If you can't, that's a sign to work on controlling spending.
If one of the store cards is your oldest account by at least a few years, then you might want to keep that one. Otherwise there is some evidence that in the medium to long term your credit profile will improve a bit by removing a lot of so called "junk cards" in it.
