Hello, Looking for advice. I have a Verizon wireless collection account showing in the revolving accounts. It is killing my utilization. Can I dispute this as its in the wrong place?
Collections are stored in an entirely different segment of your credit file.
Is it being reported only by the debt collector, or also by the creditor?
Are you certain that it is being factored into your % util?
Yes it is showing under my revolving accounts instead of collections and shows my credit card balance maxed out at that number.
Reported by Verizon wireless and is on my revolving accounts and shows if I pay off that revolving balance it would bring score up 40 points. But it is not a revolving account and should not be in my utilization.
Then it is reporting as an OC account, but reporting incorrectly as to the type of credit?
That is an inaccuracy that you can dispute.
You can either file a dispute via the CRA, or a direct dispute sent to Verizon.
Thanks Robert, I will try with CRA's and let you know results as all three show it as revolving mistake.
