Credco

Anyone ever heard of this company out of San Diego??  A hard inquiry showed up on my credit file yesterday and I am absolutely sure I did not fill out any applications or authorize a credit inquiry.  I immediately filed a dispute with EQ.

Re: Credco

Isn't that the one that QuickenLoans usually shows up as?

Re: Credco

They're one of the big trimerge report providers in the mortgage space.  They may well do other pulls for lenders who don't have a direct relationship with the bureaus.

They're a legit and pretty large company, sounds like there's a mistake somewhere like someone miswrote a SSN or something on a loan app.  Was it just on EQ or does it show up on the other bureaus too (which it would in the mortgage case).

Re: Credco

The inquiry just shows under EQ for now and I have not tried to apply for a mortgage.  I take it only hard inquires are alerted to?

Re: Credco

It's not only mortgages. I have had Credco pop up when a car dealer was checking rates for me before.

Re: Credco

my wife applied for a loan on Saturday 10 december in her name only with auto scores of 784 but had nothing to do with me.  none of my info was listed, is it possible they still pulled mine?  but how with none of my info listed?  I still did an unauthorized dispute with eq.

Auto loan?  Betcha they did.  Car dealers don't give a flying howdy about how many INQs they generate.

Re: Credco

She did it as an individual not joint, how could they have gotten my info, nothing was listed for me?  We didn't even want Toyota financial to hit here credit but glad they did, Navy Fed offered a pre-approved loan at 3.50% for a 2014 compared to capital who offered 2.99% at the same terms.

It shouldn't have unless they changed backend systems in the last few years... wasn't setup that way when I worked there if it wasn't on the app it didn't exist.

What you should do is pull your EQ report from Equifax directly, which you had access to for the dispute.  I think EQ does this too but I don't have my reports saved on this computer, but this is an example of a Credco pull on Experian where they actually list who they pulled on behalf of:
