Re: Credit Card Question

that sounds good Smiley Very Happy

And to the OP   definitly try The BoA secured card first, if no luck, which I would be surprised but who knows,   then I would go for the Orchard Bank Secured   www.orchardbank.com.   You will have to apply on a general application which is a soft hit, and then it will offer you some choices of cards you may qualify for.

Both the Bank of America and Orchard Bank have been recommended by many on here.    But I would first try BofA since they don't have any other fees beside the $29 annual fee.

If i apply for this card and get accepted will this drop my score?

I can only say from my own very recent experience and that my score went up with the new positive trade line.

So did mine, but then I have very few open cards (one store, one gas only, one gas MC, one airlines Visa and one CU visa total.

And only a large and a small mortgage.  No auto or other installment

I only had one other postive Trade Line and that was my consolidated Student loan, no other open acounts  many derogs.   And my  Exp went up 32 points and my TU went  12 points.

But like a said that is just in my case.  As far as the original poster is concerned, even if it does go down slightly, who cares,  once you are in the mid - 500's  it doesn't make a world of difference if you have 550 or 545.   Once you get established in the card and using it correctly  it is only going to help you immensly.
